PREAMBLE

The female and male workers members of the CNT don't beg for anything. We demand a more dignified social means and whilst we don't have a more just and equal world, we want to live, and for others to live, with true dignity.

Our history, as well as the history of the whole workers movement, is full of disillusions, defeats and hard times. But we can also speak with pride of social victories like the eight hour day, holidays, the weekly break; victories that were achieved not so long ago and that always run the risk of being unfulfilled by the bosses or being abolished by the state.

In our platform are summarised our demands, our more immediate aspirations, the minimum rights that each worker must enjoy. It has been elaborated by workers like you, with problems like yours. No leader has told us how to make it, no employer has influenced us in order that we reduce the list of demands and neither have any statesman or aspiring statesman, political leaders, orientated us to benefit by such and such parliamentary route. It is our platform of demands, the wishes to make your own, to better them, widen them and above all, make daily effort so that each matter is realised in a not too distant future.

Workers, workers of any department or office, people that survive with a wage, persons that get by with a salary, here you have our platform, join us if you have social aspirations, if you desire a better world. Having presented that capital and the state rule nothing and that in each small victory, there is a great battle. Ah! and don't forget that for us is that the form in which things are attained is more important than what is attained .

I. INCREASE OF EMPLOYMENT AND IMPROVEMENTS IN WORK CONDITIONS

1. Measures against unemployment.

In order to eliminate unemployment and to stop this being a constant threat against the working class, the equal distribution of work between all workers is essential. In order for this, we demand the following:

- Maximum 30 hour week without any type of modification for supposed necessities of the company. The reduction of day must not result in decreased salary: this way, work will top being a privilege and start converting itself in a real right that workers hold, creating employment and reducing the working day.

- Elimination of overtime, piecework and moonlighting; already, this kind of work , some of which is prohibitied by law, reduce numerous job opportunities.

- Annual holidays of 31 working days.

- Reduce the age of retirement to 55 years at a 100% of salary.

2. [Contratación] and improvements of employment.

We demand the total elimination of temporary work. For this we propose the following:

[Contratación] of the workers by means of permanent contracts, including those that are caused by vacancies in the [imagen plantilla]

Elimination of the [contratación] that are realised by means of "promotion of employment" contracts, false indefinite contracts, contracts in practice and promotion, etc.

Supression of subcontracts and integration into personnel of subcontract workers.

Rejection of [polivalencia] and geographical mobility.

Supresion of the new "professional groups" and maintenance of the professional categories.

Total rejection in the occupation of workplaces for ? of conscientious objectors.

All the bases of retirement, leave, invalidity and illness will be covered.

Elimination of contracts "for work or services" and of Temporary Employment Agencies.

Reduction in night work to the essential minimum and only for some sectors.

Inclusion of all the proposed measures in the different agreements and in collective negotiations.

3. Termination.

In the CNT we are for the real defence of workplaces. For so much, we show our absolute rejection of collective termination, expedient of crisis, etc, we negotiate while the boss and the "official unions" that, for if [fuera poca] the treachery of those "unions" towards the whole of the workers, they receive millionaire sums to negotiate these terminations.

All improper dismissals must correspond, automatically, to the re-instatement of the worker.

Imdemnity of one years salary for dismissal, plus 75 days per year in case of improper termination and 45 days per year in case of proper dismissal.

4. Wage increases.

Understanding that all workers form one social class, our demands must go towards a single and just wage for all. The gradual application of linear increases that put wages on the same level is a solution in the short term, although the definitive solution of massive differences between professions and collectives can only arrive through the application of inversely proportional increase that brings equal work/equal pay into reality.

Salary increases must be automatic per year and must start, as a minimum, from the calculation of the Consumer Price Index (CPI) and in the purchasing power lost in previous years.

5. Minimum wage

Given the necessities of actual life, we consider the minimum wage, besides being the basis for performance bonuses and increases, must be 120,000 pesatas a month. The minimum wage will be the same for workers under 18 years old and workers employed at home.

6. [Bajas] and maternity.

They will be covered with the 100% of base salary from the first day in which they occur and
independently of the highly prized day[?]

7. Health and Safety at work.

The thousands of industrial accidents and the chilling number of deaths in the cutting edge must demand the strict compliance of standards of security and hygiene at work, with the responsibility of total non-compliance falling on the manager.

In all cases, security at work must occupy first place and not economic benefits. The effective elimination of overtime, piecework, moonlighting.. to bear as well improvements in the conditions of security at work.

II - IMPROVEMENTS OF SOCIAL PROTECTION

1. Maternity

In the CNT we consider maternity as a right of women workers and not as a illness, nor as a bond at the hour of contraction?. For this:

She must have total coverage.

The mother will choose between the payment on the part of the State for the nursery until the baby reaches school age or to see that established in agreement by this collective.

The mother or the father must have rights to request a period of paid leave for the first 3 years of the baby's life.

They must increase considerably the number of places of public nurseries.

2. Medical and pharmaceutical benefits

We understand that Public Health is a right that workers pay for with our work and the deductions that we make. For this, Social Security must cover 100% of all medical and pharmaceutical benefits. They will have to, then, include it in all the benefits new pathologies, prosthetics, dental repairs, etc. Abortion and anticontraceptives must be also free.

3. Social rights

Social benefits are for all workers, whether unemployed or working. The social payments will be stipulated to start from the minimum wage. Defacto couples will receive the same rights.

III - REDISTRIBUTION OF INCOME

Rejection of the prevailing system of taxation in which those that get less pay more and which taxes work instead of the wealth of Capital.

Rejection of the system of indirect imposts in which the Working Class is the fundamental taxpayer benefiting those more economically powerful.

Application of measures set aside to the attainment of a distribution of the wealth that penalises the disproportionate income and benefits of Capital.

It is about, finally, implementing gradually a better Social Justice.

IV. RIGHTS OF PARTICIPATION OF WORKERS

1. Industrial Rights

Elimination of all anti-union and anti-worker industrial legislation. Rejection of the Union Reforms and incorporation of Human Rights in the field of work. Development of formulas of work and of industrial security that eliminates the millions of deaths by industrial accidents.

2. Union Rights

Application of a truly Free Union and freedom of association. We demand a union equality that ends the privileges of union bureaucracies. We advocate for the extinction of the ill-fated figures of the Works Councils and its substitution for genuine workers organs as the union sections are. All other things being equal, an end with the bureaucracy and management, and to foster the direct
participation of workers.

3. Collective Negotiation.

As the workers are the most affected by Collective agreements, we demand the participation of the workers in all and each one of the negotiation processes is crucial for the defence of their interests. The CNT advocates for a collective negotiation in that the only valid speakers are the workers themselves through their unions and assemblies, without mediation by committees, leaders or bureaucrats.

All the agreements must be negotiated yearly and the proposals and its acceptance must be endorsed by the assembly of workers.

They must eliminate all the agreements of limited or personalised efficiency.

The respective agreement must reflect, without ambiguities. the functions of each professional category.

V. RIGHTS OF SOCIAL SELF-MANAGEMENT

The new social and industrial victories must start with the workers control and management of the work and services. The right to economic and social self-management is the most dignified that the Working Class can aspire.

The union action of the CNT, all our union action, is based on association, organisation, direct action and solidarity of the Working Class.

This constitutes the fundamental tools of work and of struggle. Social transformation is our greatest challenge.
